With names such as the new Crobar and Restaurant Watusi under his belt, Steve Harris has put together a crew to open Debonair Social Club. Team members consist of Claudia Gassel, image and marketing guru, Vincent Haycock, artistic curator, and Matthew Murray, “Startender”. Bringing pop culture and people together to drink, dance, and eat in a provocative atmosphere. “

Our goal is to add onto the growing reputation that Wicker Park has become known for; as the art, fashion, food, and entertainment destination in the city” comments Steve Harris, general manager. “A true social club pairs people, culture and all things good in life. We are bringing a fun yet cool new vibe to the historic Flat Iron Building”.
Debonair’s mission is to create community by curating a space where art, music, and food is celebrated with our guests through the highest level of customer service in Chicago.

“The Debonair team has years of experience In the Industry" states Claudia Gassel, "we combined that knowledge with our various interests and created a place that we would go to for our customers". This labor of love shows in the integrity in all aspects of the final product. While “social club” evokes a wise guy hangout, Debonair is both sensual and gritty embracing the hipster as well as the fashionista. Debonair has turned out a space with a modern edge that is ‘gal friendly” while playfully addressing the historic aspects of the social club -- sophistication with a hint of debauchery. Impressive, sensory video displays flank the walls creating a bold nightlife experience. A breathtaking high-gloss crimson lacquered bar shimmers as the upper room’s focal point.

The more discerning lower level features a sleek 30-foot bar, second DJ booth and table service thru reservations. Menu created by chef Don Carlo of the San Gennero Fest ’72 is available on both levels until 2 am. “Members” of Debonair will have intimate access to ongoing special events.
